Who is Hello Kaiya

I'm Kai (Kaiya) Inoue, a fashion designer and cosplayer located in Austin, TX.

I'm inspired by Alexander McQueen and Japanese Street Fashion, but most of what I create comes out spontaneously.  I view fashion as art, it goes beyond classic mediums, I'm able to apply skill sets from various art forms to create extraordinarily unique designs. 

I've been working on my fashion design skills for the past 10 years.  I started in a basic sewing class at Creativity Shell in Houston and walked the runway in my first fashion show in April 2017.  

Since then, I've participated in several shows around Houston and Austin TX where I've been able to showcase my designs and grow in the world of fashion.   

I'm lucky to have so many amazing people that support me and believe in me.  My parents have taken me to so many different places across the US and Japan where I have experienced different people and cultures.  I've also lived in several cities:  Seattle & Spokane WA, St Robert & Lake of the Ozarks MO, Houston TX and finally Austin TX.  

We've moved a lot, its been hard at times and I miss many of the friends I've made in different cities.  However, we love Austin and its been a great home for the past few years.  

My parents help me run everything and keep me on track throughout the day.  My mom is like my personal assistant, without her, I'd lose track of everything.  She helps me with school, scheduling friends, trips and ensuring I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do each day.  My dad is the business guy, he runs all the website stuff, social media, coordinates videos/photos, chauffer and of course security.  

We have four dogs that are also security around our house.  Three big (Great Dane, English Mastiff and Cane Corso) and one little...well the little thinks he's big, but that's just the way French Bulldogs are.  He's named after a famous viking king.

Besides fashion, I also like to cosplay.  Its fun to get dressed up and do my makeup in creative ways.  I feel like fashion and cosplay kind of go hand in hand and I try to combine the two when I can.  Sometimes I just want to cosplay and keep it simple and fun.
